A LITTLE LEARNING IS A DANGEROUS THING

A little learning is a dangerous thing. It is a well-accepted proverb. It suggests that complete ignorance about a subject is not so harmful. It is because in that case a man does not presume to a master. He remains humble. He never attempts to do anything about an unknown subject. So there is no danger of the thing being done in a wrong way. But little knowledge always provokes a man to take some work in hands and to earn the credit. So, a man of a little learning deceives others and deceives himself.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing because a man with a little learning always makes mistakes and takes wrong decisions. We should never try to consult a quack if we fall ill. It is because he has only a partial idea of medical science. He may suggest wrong medicine which is fatal for our health. Similarly, an unqualified teacher may spoil our career. A bad engineer will spoil the whole plan. A bad lawyer cannot argue in the best way.



A man who is really qualified is not proud and showy. But a man with a little learning is often proud and showy. He considers himself superior to all. He does not try to know more. He never tries to follow the way of self-assessment. On the other hand, a man who learns much becomes sober. He never tries to show himself being a great scholar.

The scope of knowledge is vast. It is not possible for us to know everything. There is no limit of knowledge. We should always try to learn more and more. There are many things in the world. We are ignorant of them. We have to know them. So, we should use the proverb, "A little learning is a dangerous thing", in positive way. It should be used positively to improve the knowledge.

थोड़ी सी सीख एक खतरनाक चीज है। यह एक अच्छी तरह से स्वीकृत कहावत है। यह बताता है कि किसी विषय के बारे में पूर्ण अज्ञानता इतनी हानिकारक नहीं है। ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि उस मामले में एक आदमी एक मास्टर के लिए अनुमान नहीं करता है। वह विनम्र रहता है। वह कभी भी किसी अज्ञात विषय के बारे में कुछ करने का प्रयास नहीं करता है। इसलिए गलत तरीके से काम किए जाने का कोई खतरा नहीं है। लेकिन थोड़ा सा ज्ञान हमेशा किसी व्यक्ति को हाथों में कुछ काम लेने और क्रेडिट हासिल करने के लिए उकसाता है। इसलिए, थोड़ा सीखने वाला व्यक्ति दूसरों को धोखा देता है और खुद को धोखा देता है।

थोड़ा सा ज्ञान एक खतरनाक चीज है क्योंकि थोड़ी सीख वाला आदमी हमेशा गलतियाँ करता है और गलत फैसले लेता है। अगर हम बीमार पड़ते हैं तो हमें कभी भी किसी से सलाह लेने की कोशिश नहीं करनी चाहिए। ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि उसके पास चिकित्सा विज्ञान का केवल एक आंशिक विचार है। वह गलत दवा का सुझाव दे सकता है जो हमारे स्वास्थ्य के लिए घातक है। इसी तरह, एक अयोग्य शिक्षक हमारे करियर को खराब कर सकता है। एक बुरा इंजीनियर पूरी योजना को खराब कर देगा। एक बुरा वकील सबसे अच्छे तरीके से बहस नहीं कर सकता।



एक आदमी जो वास्तव में योग्य है वह गर्व और दिखावटी नहीं है। लेकिन थोड़ा सीखने वाला आदमी अक्सर गर्व और दिखावटी होता है। वह स्वयं को सभी से श्रेष्ठ मानता है। वह ज्यादा जानने की कोशिश नहीं करता। वह कभी भी स्व-मूल्यांकन के तरीके का पालन करने की कोशिश नहीं करता है। दूसरी ओर, एक व्यक्ति जो बहुत कुछ सीखता है वह शांत हो जाता है। वह कभी खुद को महान विद्वान दिखाने की कोशिश नहीं करता।

ज्ञान का दायरा विशाल है। हमारे लिए सब कुछ जानना संभव नहीं है। ज्ञान की कोई सीमा नहीं है। हमें हमेशा ज्यादा से ज्यादा सीखने की कोशिश करनी चाहिए। दुनिया में कई चीजें हैं। हम उनसे अनभिज्ञ हैं। हमें उन्हें जानना होगा। इसलिए, हमें सकारात्मक तरीके से कहावत का उपयोग करना चाहिए, "थोड़ी सी सीख एक खतरनाक चीज है"। ज्ञान में सुधार के लिए इसका सकारात्मक उपयोग किया जाना चाहिए।
